  1. periodic loss of display when using the system.

I have an older Lenovo laptop connected to a separate monitor. I have a periodic loss of my display screens when using the system. As the screens go black there's a 3 or 4 note sound generated on both shut-off and return. The blackouts are momentary, I can continue data entry on the keyboard without interruption, but I loose the curser momentarily, which always returns in the center of the screen. I've successfully updated all drivers but the problem persists. What hardware in my system is creating this problem!

    :)
