    Permissions for MSLLDP

Having been in receipt of the CAPI2 error Event ID 513 Cryptographic Services failed while processing the OnIdentity() call in the System Writer Object, I looked at this and other forums for a resolution. Seeing a general consensus for a fix, using SC and accesschk.exe, I successfully carried out the addition of copying (A;;CCLCSWLOCRRC;;;SU) from MUP to MSLLDP. For a time this stopped the Events occurring but now they have returned.

At the time, when I compared the information in the blog with what I had, I was aware that there was a data string missing from my version of MSLLDP and this was S*SadAU;FA;CCDCLCSWRPWPDTLOCRSDRCWDWO;;;WD). Being aware of the statement “don’t copy the information from the blog but use your own data”, I didn't add it. I have tried to decode the string to actually work out what it is for and I think I have done it correctly but basically I am none the wiser! What I extracted follows:-

S = Controls Auditing. AU= System Audit FA = Failed Access Audit and I believe the Authority (WD) is Everyone.

So what I am asking is what is it for and should it be added to my Home edition of Windows 10?

    :)

  2. No permissions

    Hi,

I would suggest you to right click on the user's folder for your profile and check if the permissions shows as "read only'. If this is the case, it might be causing the issue. In this case, I would suggest you to go to C:\User folder, right click on the
folder with your username and follow these steps:

    • Open the properties of the main user profile folder where the files are located (such as Documents, Pictures, etc).
    • Go to the Security tab and click Advanced.
    • Check the box at the bottom of this window. It is labeled "Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object" and then click Ok.
This does a one-time action that replaces the security on all the files/subfolders. It’s one-time, so you won’t find that box checked if you peek at it later. Try these steps and let us know the results for further assistance.

    Permission issue

Presumably because TrustedInstaller is the owner (hence you need its permission), suggesting that img3.jpg was installed by Windows at some time.

Presumably that also means it can be uninstalled. How did you get it in the first place? Where is it located?

If you really want to delete it yourself, then taking ownership would seem a logical first step.
