Windows 10: Perseverant sound problem

1- uninstalling audio device from device manager and restarting pc
*worked sometimes, but after some time, out of nowhere sound stopped working. and when i go check for audio realtek driver in the device manager it appears under the hidden items
*sometimes sound goes and comes back after applying some pressure on the pc's palmrest next to the jack port
2-using windows troubleshooter
3- installing the latest driver from manufacturer (asus)
didn't work
4- i tried a driver update software, that after updating my audio driver, the sound started working again, but after sometime it just goes off and the redcross over the sound icon appears
*note. in the driver update software, it show that my audio device is unplugged. and when i go to sound/playback/ audio device does not appear even when i check "show disabled and disconnected devices"
4- registry modification: 'SYSTEM'

'Control'

'{4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}'
delete any upper or lower filter's data
this worked after laptop restart, but then out of nowhere sound went off again
* sometimes when using bluetooth speaker sound just goes off

*final note. i don't know if it is a hardware or driver problem. sometimes it seems like it's a hardware one when i press on the palmrest and the sound comes back (very rare), and also considering that i had the three screws on the right side of the pc, i took one from the bottom left side and placed it at right, which didn't help.

We need to investigate further so that we can identify the cause of the issue. We suggest running the Troubleshooter and see if it helps. Follow the steps below:

• Type and select Troubleshooting on the Search bar/Cortana.
• Click Hardware and Sound.
• Select Playing Audio under Sound.
• Follow the steps that will be provided.

If the steps does not work. We suggest downloading a fresh copy of the audio driver from Realtek and see if it helps.

Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

 

Sound Quality


One thing that sticks out from looking at your "My Computer" specs. You list "ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)" which suggests you do not have the correct sound hardware driver. Your motherboard has Realtek sound and the first step is to install the Realtek sound drivers. My ASUS also came with Sonic Studio 2 which is a sound enhancement package. Check the ASUS install disc to see if you have something similar.

May not be a speaker problem.
