Windows 10: Persona 4 Golden and other "old" games crashing on start. Help?

i bought the 2020 iMac please lets not make this Mac vs PC = ,

Core i9,
AMD 5700 XT,
64GB of Ram
Windows 10 64 Bit Version

Windows is more or less - i will explain later vanilla as i litteraly only have it for gaming.


For some reason it seems to not be able to run 32-Bit games right now. They "crash on startup" and need to be killed via the task manager due to them still ideling in purgotory.

When i first got the computer and installed Persona 4 Golden it ran. Surprisingly "bad", but it would boot and be playable.
I don´t come around to much gaming, so i have not played in a while, the other day i bought a few of the Princes Maker games and found that they would crash on start up, without the game ever vissibly opening. I checked out some other games, Planet Zoo opens, Planet Coaster as well, Civ 6, xCom 2 and Frostpunk all run fine and dandy. But in this process i found out that Persona 4 Golden was also not starting in the same way the PM games were not.

I wrestled with Steam support a bit on getting these games to run. But the list of things i checked for them pretty much don´t apply to this instalation of windows at all VPNs, Firewalls ect. - wroked through their support document to the best of my abilety - shut down windows defender, rebooted ect.. - Eventually they send me of to the people that developed/sold these games and i am yet waiting for a reply from them.

While waiting i also tried some other "old games" King of Dragon Pass, Loren the amazon princess and came to the assumtion that there might be an issue with 32-Bit games right now as all the games i have to kill via the Task Manager seem to have a 32-Bit behind them.


Now, here is the thing. I know 100% that Persona 4 Golden did start and was playable. Because when i got this computer i 100% remember my disapointment how bad it actually was running at that point there had been no official Bootcamp driver by AMD for this GPU, i think it got less choppy after. - So i know something must have happend in the rar time i actually used this windows instalation.


Here is what comes to my mind.
I got the current driver by AMD there litteraly is only one version ever released for this iMac. I figgured that uninstalling it might make the games playable. Used their eraser tool, rebooted. No luck.

When i say "mostly vanilla" Windows 10 instalation there is Apples Bootcamp tools but they had been there and have not been updated when Persona 4 was playable.
When the problem occured and i was looking for some help people told me to install vissual C++ librarys i did that and old directx version i guess i did some, this confused me a bit and some of the websites offering them seemed shady.

Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

Forza Horizon 4 - Game crashes - I have the solution

I still get crashes after trying your suggestions. I thought the crashes was gone, but it happens all of a sudden if im racing, are in the world map on Forza H4 or just start the game and press on continue. It also happens in other games using the Xbox Beta
app.

I reverted every step i did on my original posts with Game Bar disabled and such, but I still crashes with Game Bar enabled or disabled.

I also installed the gforce driver v. 436.30 as suggested from the official forums for Forza since its a known issue with new gforce drivers with crashes. I still get crashes.

I downloaded this game from the Xbox Game Pass-subscription I have. I don't own the game but play it using a monthly subscription.
