Windows 10: Personal files and documents appearing on new user desktop

I have not had much luck so far so I am hoping someone may be able to help.


I currently have an issue with the desktop, random documents appear on users profiles, however they are not already existing users but new ones.

When a new user is logging on to a computer, for the first time they are receiving others peoples documents and some are personal. Also, what is confusing me is that these are new machines never before used.

They are not always the same file either, they are always different. So its even more of a challenge trying to locate where these documents/files are coming from.


Something is being picked up from the server somewhere, we have checked group polices and shares and we have not identified anything. Is there anywhere else we should be checking.

windows 10 deleted my desktop files

Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

copied all files again to desktop.

Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

• Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
• Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
• Click on Users, select your User name
• Go to desktop folder

Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.

 

Cannot find Desktop Icon in File Explorer

Now that is interesting. If I do what you suggest, File Explorer Address bar changes to C:\Users\username\documents and the missing ICONS are there. But there is still not a "Desktop" folder.

Is this a step in the right direction?
