Personal Folders & Libraries Missing in Homegroup

I can never catch a break with this feature of Windows, seriously...

Example of the "Personal" folders/libraries I am talking about (NOT from my computer):

Personal Folders & Libraries Missing in Homegroup [IMG]

My computer (only "Shared" folders/libraries show up):

Does anyone know how to fix this?

EDIT: This seems to not be the case when using a Microsoft Account, only when using a Local Account. Does a Local Account in Windows 10 not support this?

    :)

  2. Can't remove personal folders in homegroup.

A time ago I started a homegroup on my pc.

I choosed which folders I wanted to share but some folders and libraries didn't disappear.

These folders are personal but they are stil visible in the homegroup folder.

    I want to remove them.

I added a screenshot (in Dutch: persoonlijk=personal) showing the problem.

Added Homegroup says "Is unavailable" when the homegroup computer was on and active. How can I see the files and pictures in the homegroup?

It could be that the older PC is not added to the HomeGroup that you have created. After creating the HomeGroup, you may add your other PC to the HomeGroup. Make sure that you are not using a Guest account in your PC to be able to join the HomeGroup and
see the files shared through it. Here's how to add your other PC that you want to add to the HomeGroup:

    • Open HomeGroup by typing homegroup in the search box on the taskbar, and then select it from the list of results.
    • Select Join now > Next.
    • Select the libraries and devices you want to share with the HomeGroup, then select
      Next.
    • Type the HomeGroup password in the box, then select Next.
    • Select Finish.

Note: If you don't see a space to enter a password, there might not be a HomeGroup available. Make sure that you have created the HomeGroup.

After joining the HomeGroup, PCs that belong to a HomeGroup will appear in File Explorer. From File Explorer, you can view the shared libraries on other HomeGroup PCs. Here's how to get to the shared libraries:

    • Open File Explorer by typing file explorer in the search box, then selecting it from the search results.
    • Under HomeGroup, select the user account name of the person whose libraries you want to get to.
    • In the file list, double-click the library you want to get to, then double-click the file or folder you want.

Note: PCs that are turned off, hibernating, or asleep won't be available as part of the HomeGroup. If you've made HomeGroup files or folders available offline, and then you disconnect from the network, the files or folders will no longer
be visible in the Libraries window. To find them, open the Network folder.

If you need further assistance, feel free to ask us.

If the Libraries are not shared to each other on a Homegroup, you will not see them. Libraries are just basically shortcuts to the actual folders. I always suggest to just use standard network sharing, because at some point, Home Group will screw up.

You do it in the Home Group settings. Again, they are just direct shortcuts to the actual folders. Home Group at some point is going to stop working and then you will have to go with standard Network Sharing of those folders that you want or just use the Public Folders.
