Windows 10: Personalization reverts back to picture mode from slide show when switching between Virtual...

I setup a folder for my wallpapers and I frequently use virtual desktops. Whenever I switch between the desktops it reverts back to Picture mode from the Slide show Mode. This happens in both my microsoft user account and local account. This has been a problem for more than a year. I only found complaints on online no solutions yet. Use the following steps:

Navigate to Settings>Personalize>Background

Under background,

In the drop down list select Slide show.

Windows 10: Set Lock screen to slide show, but it kept reverting back to Picture

Windows 10: Build 10135. Set lock screen to slide show and it kept reverting back to Picture. The setting is not sticking. It was similar with previous versions. Only 10132 appeared to have been better. The build came from flb_srv branch.

 

Why does the Personalization Slideshow keep automatically reverting back to Picture Mode?

I've recently upgraded to Windows 11 but had this issue with Windows 10. I have a Lenovo ThinkPad T460s. Between Thanksgiving and New Years Day, I like to run a Wallpaper slideshow of Christmas theme Webshots pictures but it keeps reverting back to Picture mode and pics from my Webshots Favorite folder. I also had selected the Christmas pictures as a Theme and selected that but again, it reverts back to Picture mode. Never had this issue before. Very frustrating! Did just about every troubleshooting that could be done. I'm thinking this involves some needed update, corrupted file, or registry change. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
