Windows 10: Personalize background set at slideshow will only allow jpg's

In Windows 10, selecting personalize background and slideshow will only allow jpg's, no png's, although I can select a png file as a standing picture. How to make the slideshow allow png's?

2. Does the issue occur with other images as well or only the one saved in the desktop?

For now, I suggest that you follow the steps below to change the slideshow option and check.

1. Go to the Settings application

2. Click on Personalization, select Picture from that top dropdown

If the above did not help, change the background picture that you have set and check.

Slideshow desktop background not working

3. Check the folder path of the pictures you are using for the slideshow. Ensure that the path is correct and accessible.
   

• Check Power Settings
  

1. Open Control Panel.
   
2. Go to Power Options.
   
3. Select your power plan and click on Change plan settings.
   
4. Click on Change advanced power settings.
   
5. Expand Desktop background settings and then Slide show.
   
6. Make sure both On battery and Plugged in are set to Available.
