Windows 10: Phantasy Star Online 2, is there anyway to not have to attach your microsoft account to...

So I went to download the game. The Install button is there and I clicked on it to install but it shows the "no" icon when I mouse over it. I can click the three dot box next to it and it brings up install to device. But no devices are activated because I don't use Microsoft accounts to log into my PC's.


I'm logged into the account on the store because obviously. But I don't want to log into my computer with the account feature. I don't use the sync features, nor want to use them. Any of Microsoft's apps that use the feature I don't use. I've turned off all the data collection bs on my machine that I could figure out how too. So I see no reason to link my account. Nor do I really want too.


So is there anyway to play this game without activating my Microsoft account as an account on my PC? Or will there be a way to do this in the future? I was waiting happily for this game to finally release and it was a huge let down to come home from work and encounter this problem.

I loved Phantasy Star on the Master System and Phantasy Star II on the Genesis. I'd actually prefer a newer offline version.

You took the words out of my mouth. The 3D Dungeons on the 1st Phantasy Star was amazing. And I still have this game and my Sega Master System.*Big Grin

Also Phantasy Star on the Master System won for best RPG for that time and kept that title for years I believe.
