Windows 10: phantom xbox controller holding full right stick (holding it to the left)

my computer seems to think that theres a controller plugged in holding the right stick in position all the time. i assume its some driver or something that i installed, but i cant find it.

i use parsec sometimes and i know that has controller passthrough, but what else can i look for?

XBox One wired controller: left stick triggers right stick

Hi,

My XBox One wired controller was working fine until recently, when suddenly the right stick was being triggered when using the left stick. I.e.: in a third-person game, I would move with the left stick, and the camera would spin around, or in a dual-stick
shooter, I would move in a direction and it'll fire in that direction even though I'm not touching the right stick. It's an on-and-off problem; sometimes it does this and sometimes it doesn't.

I looked in joy.cpl, and the left stick triggers only the X rotation; the right stick triggers X and Y. This doesn't seem like what it should be doing, but I'm not sure since I've never used that panel before. I tried unplugging the controller and plugging
it back in, to no avail, tried calibrating it there and in Steam Big Picture, but still having the problem? Is the controller just broken? Thanks.

• Are you using an Xbox one controller?
  

If you are using an Xbox one controller, I suggest you to refer the steps in the article

How to connect an Xbox One Wireless Controller to a Windows PC and see if that helps in resolving the issue.



I would also suggest you to uninstall all the hidden devices under USB hive and check if you are able to connect the wireless adapter. Please follow the steps mentioned below to uninstall the hidden drivers:

1. Press and hold the Windows + X key on the keyboard.
   
2. Select Device manager.
   
3. Click View tab.
   
4. Select Show hidden devices.
   
5. Expand Universal Serial Bus and remove all the greyed out devices. To remove the greyed out devices, right click on the device and select
   uninstall.
   
6. Restart your computer.

Wireless Xbox One controller requires PIN for Windows 10.

Hi,

You will be asked for a PIN when connecting your wireless Xbox One controller via Bluetooth on Windows 10 if your Bluetooth drivers are not updated. It is also possible that you have to reset the controller to remove the PIN. To resolve your concern, restart
your controller by following the steps below:

• Power off the controller by pressing and holding the Xbox button on the controller for 6 seconds.
• Press the Xbox button again to power it back on.
• Connect your Xbox Wireless Controller to your PC using a USB cable or the Xbox Wireless Adapter for Windows.
