Windows 10: Phone Link and CrossDevice folder

I had phone link installed for quite some time now and I was using it just so I could send text messages from my PC instead of using the phone's keyboard... Thats all...To my surprise today, I see the CrossDevice folder in my user profile, and it was exceeding 340Gb, so I checked it and it had all my phone's data, photos, videos etc!I wasn't asked from the app if I wanted the app to "sync" my phone's data to my PC and I didn't want all my photos to be occupying all this disk space in my PC.So, I hit SHIFT-DELETE on the CrossDevice folder on my PC and I then realized that the stupid thing also

Here's the steps to update EMUI 4.1.1 to 5.0 :

• Download the EMUI 5.0(desired version) .zip file, and unzip it.
• Place the .hwt file in the HWThemes folder from your phone.
• Using the Themes app, apply the new theme.
• Restart the phone, in order to see all the new changes.

And you’re done!

 

Can't "Link to Wndows"

Thanks so much. I will certainly follow your tutorial in the future. I think resetting did the trick, and I was also able to set a pin code. Question. I am confused about one ongoing step: "Go to www.aka.ms/addComputer" in your browser." A search for this, and other similar url's suggested in the Phone LInk setup always ends up the same way, with a trip to nowhere.

Clicking in those types of links end up in a blank tab

 

Supported phones for Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Mobile

Your list confirms my phone is eligible, Lumia 521. The windows Insider App fails after ~ 15 seconds, restores data and gives me error 80073cf9. I trouble shot this and went thru all the steps mentioned on several websites including MS without any luck. Short of a hard reset, this is where I am now. Suggestions appreciated.
