  1. Phone Link App showing my number as part of the "One-to-One" conversation

The title of this question was taken from another post that was locked - but never actually answered. So when I send an SMS to someone - "Joe", "Joe" gets sent the message, but a copy comes back to me - so I see it twice. I just want to send the SMS to Joe and be done with it.I do use Phone Link and can't figure out if this problem is being caused by Phone Link or my phone Samsung s24. There is no easy way to say what's causing this.Does anyone know? As I said, the thread I saw on this is locked rather than answered.TaNeil

Why does MS Phone Link show 2 people of texts?

My Android phone shows there is only one person in one of my text chains, but Phone Link shows there are two, but only one is named or identified. My other text threads appear correctly, but one chain in particular shows "2 people".

Edit (Correction): Now one of my other text chains show as there being two people in the conversation. What's different this time is that the first instance listed the original (intended) recipient, then a comma. This second chain shows a comma, then the intended recipient.

I tried deleting the text archive for that contact, then sending a text. Initially, it said it was going to one person, showed their avatar and their phone number. Then, the desktop app added an identical text going to "2 people", but it only showed the name and avatar for the original recipient. Though, in the list of text chains, the avatar was replaced with a two-headed generic.

When I restarted Phone Link, the original text was gone and there was only the "2 people" version.

Nothing on my phone indicates the texts are going to two people. It's only the Microsoft Phone Link desktop app.

Any help, remedies, suggestion or precautions would be welcome.

    Thanks!

  3. Phone Link not showing Contact Names....again

I was able to fix this on my computer by following these steps:

    1. In the Phone Link app on PC, go to Settings, click the My Devices tab, and use the ellipsis (...) menu on your device to remove it, then close the app.
    2. On your phone (mine is an Android), go to Settings, Apps, Link to Windows, Open, then remove your PC from the Linked Computers section.
    3. Restart your phone.
    4. Re-link the phone and PC by restarting the Phone Link app on your PC and following the step to add your device.
    5. Perhaps this is the critical thing, but I noticed in the Link to Windows app on Android, there is a toggle to "Sync contacts" under the list of Linked Computers, which was disabled for me. Turn this on.
Contacts are showing up again for me now - yay!

I have been seeing a similar issue - I don't get the duplicate single and group behaviour of OP, but I do have some contacts that are showing as group messages with them and my number.

Oppo Find X2 Neo with default Messages app.

It only appears to be for contacts that I have a long history with
