Windows 10: Phone Link Issue - Messages show unread on other device even after read on Phone Link on my PC

When I am on my PC and using Phone Link and click and read a text on that, my cellphone Samsung S22 Ultra does not mark text messages as read. They are still on my cell phone as if they are new and unread. Also, when I am using Microsoft Teams on my PC and I have read a message, my cellphone app does not update either and still shows the messages as new and unread. Is there a setting to change this?

Phone Link Messages show as new on phone even after read on PC, and vice versa

With the old Your Phone app, when I receive and read a text message on my PC then look at my phone later, the message app doesn't show that I still have unread messages which is what I wanted it to do. But with the new Phone Link app, when I receive and read a text message on my PC then look at my phone later, it still shows that I have unread messages even though I read that message on my PC already. It shows as a "badge" number on my messages app, then when I open the messages app it shows the message in bold letters indicating it hasn't been read. Is there a setting to change this feature?

Windows 10

Samsung S21 Android version 12

Google Messaging app

Phone Link not showing Contact Names....again

I was able to fix this on my computer by following these steps:

1. In the Phone Link app on PC, go to Settings, click the My Devices tab, and use the ellipsis (...) menu on your device to remove it, then close the app.
   
2. On your phone (mine is an Android), go to Settings, Apps, Link to Windows, Open, then remove your PC from the Linked Computers section.
   
3. Restart your phone.
   
4. Re-link the phone and PC by restarting the Phone Link app on your PC and following the step to add your device.
   
5. Perhaps this is the critical thing, but I noticed in the Link to Windows app on Android, there is a toggle to "Sync contacts" under the list of Linked Computers, which was disabled for me. Turn this on.
   

Contacts are showing up again for me now - yay!

 

Your Phone App - Link to Windows not working

Has anyone found the secret to getting the Your Phone - Link to Windows App working correctly?
Looking at the number of posts in other forums saying they have problems there is clearly a major issue with this App. It's a pity because it used to work quite well before recent Windows updates.
Basically my phone (Samsung A515) will connect to Your Phone on my PC and I can see the headers of Notifications on my PC. If I try to read Messages or access Photos or open Desktop Apps it says I need permissions and asks me to click on a link to send a permission request to my phone. It never arrives. I don't see any permission request. Also it doesn't say what permissions are missing nor how to enable them.
The response from MS is always to ensure that your phone and PC Apps are at the latest version (they are). I suspect there is a major bug in this App, yet others seem to suggest that it does work. Hopelessly confused.
