  1. Phone will not connect to Bluetooth on Windows 10

I have a seemingly weird problem. I have a Galaxy Note 10+ with a desktop PC running Windows 10 Pro 1903. The Note 10+ was running Android Pie until recently when it was upgraded to Android 10. This problem has not gone away since upgrading to Android 10.

I use the Your Phone/Link to Windows feature that this combination offers. I would like to be able to do 2 things. Use Dynamic Lock, and use the new calling feature in the Your Phone app (even though I believe it's only in beta).

The issue is that whenever I attempt to pair the phone, it says "Couldn't connect". But Windows 10 says it's paired successfully. Whenever I try to initiate the connection, it fails. This has happened across 2 motherboards. The first motherboard had the Intel 9260 AC Wireless adapter. The second one is the Intel WiFi 6 AX200.

I have tried resetting network settings on both devices. I've also uninstalled/reinstalled the bluetooth drivers on Windows 10. I have even performed a factory reset of the phone. Because I recently changed motherboards, I went ahead and did a clean install of Windows as well.

Here's where it gets weird. First, the Dynamic Lock feature is working. Second, I have a laptop that has the Intel 9260 AC same version of Windows, same driver (including version), and it has been able to pair with that, but for some reason it appears to have stopped working.

I could potentially get around this using Samsung Flow, but I've found that app to be quite a battery hog and would rather not use it if I don't have to.

    Bluetooth in windows 10

My computer specs are as listed in the profile. I think all of you guys are correct. I don't have built-in Bluetooth in mobo.

I contacted skull candy headphones and thy have told me if I do not have built-in Bluetooth, I would need a dongle which supports at least a2dp. I do not know what the heck that means. I have a feeling I would need more than a cheap dongle.

Anyone suggest some a2dp adapters. I searched but don't know what a2dp is so couldn't make a decision

USB-BT211 Mini Bluetooth Dongle | Networking | ASUS Global

    • Support A2DP for Wireless Stereo Music Playback
Edit: This is a dongle with old BT version I see now, but I'm sure you can find a Asus BT4.0 version.

    Edit2:

@aasim1111 I have this one, it doesn't show that it supports A2DP in the specs but I think it'll work, otherwise send a mail to Asus and ask.

PC Windows 10 Bluetooth won't connect with Pixel 3XL phone

I have a Lenovo Yoga C930 PC (Win 10) that I cannot connect to my Pixel 3XL phone. I can get them to pair, but the PC bluetooth will only hold the connection for about 1 second, then says 'not connected'.

I have removed the PC from the phone's list of previously connected devices & then re-paired-numerous times. I have shut down & re-started both devices numerous times. None of these actions have worked. I am praying that one of you smart readers can help me solve this highly frustrating problem, pretty please?

BTW, I recently ran the upgrade on my phone from android 9 to 10. Could this be the problem? I see other changes on my phone that I think add steps & make it more cumbersome to use. Wish I could dump android 10 & go back to 9, but don't know how to do that either. If that is not the cause of this connection problem with the PC, I can live with it.

I would appreciate all advice. Please know that I am a 60-something year old- more knowledgeable than a basic user, but not super well versed in all of the software & hardware fixes that many of you know, so please write your suggestions/solutions accordingly. Many thanks in advance Phone will not connect to Bluetooth on Windows 10 :)
