Windows 10: PhoneExperienceHost.exe high CPU usage when pc idle

Hi,When I come back to my laptop and it's gone into idle mode screen off I can hear the fans running fast, but as soon as I move the mouse the fans die off. I tried to figure out for a while what was happening and eventually set up perfmon to record what processes were running. I discovered that runs at 50% CPU continuously while the machine is in idle which is ridiculous for something that shouldn't be doing anything much I'd upload a screenshot but there doesn't seem to be an option anywhere. Looking at details in Task Manager the PhoneExperienceHost.exe process has used twice as much CP

High CPU Usage at Idle

Hey guys, recently my W10 PC seems to be using a fair bit of CPU. I noticed this because my Battlefield 1 fps appeared to have dropped. First thing I did was roll back my nvidia drivers to the previous version, but then I noticed my cpu usage. I seem to be using 35-45% cpu usage at idle. I've never seen it go below 35% (In safe mode its around 2-3%).

Things i've tried:
- Sfc scannow at boot (it found & fixed a few things)
- chkdsk /f at boot
- Stuff from here: Windows 10 High CPU Usage Fixes
- Superantispyware scan

Hopefully someone will be able to point me in the right direction!

No, System Idle Process is *not* causing high cpu usage. It's not causing anything at all.

System Idle Process is not really any process at all. It's just a number inserted to make the total CPU usage add up to 100%. From the little information you've provided, I can't tell what your problem is, but it's definitely not System Idle Process .
