Windows 10: Photo app effects!

I have been using the Microsoft Photo app for about 3/4 years now and think it's great. Although mostly for fun I make my own movies and add things to photos etc. Just one simple question, is there any way of getting more "effects" apart from the ones that come with the app? I think since I have been using the app there have been one or two extra ones added but that's all! Brian Windows 10 22H2

Hi Nate,

Your Windows Photo app might be corrupted that's why it's not working as intended. Since you already tried to reset the app to no effect, reinstalling the app might do the trick. Kindly follow the steps below on how to reinstall the Windows Photo app:

A. First you need to uninstall the Photo app using PowerShell:

1. On your keyboard, press Windows + X.
2. Select Windows PowerShell (Admin).
3. Copy and paste this command: get-appxpackage *Microsoft.Windows.Photos* | remove-appxpackage
4. Press Enter.
5. Restart your device for it to take effect.

B. Install the Microsoft Photo app.

1. Launch the Windows Store.
2. On the search bar, type Microsoft Photo.
3. Press Enter.
4. Download and install the app.

Afterwards, try to recreate your 3D Effect. If the issue persist. Please provide us your Windows build and version for us to provide more possible solutions:

1. On your keyboard, press Windows + R.
2. Type winver, and press Enter.
3. Then, provide us the build and version of your Windows.

Effects of Uninstalling the Windows 10 Photos App?

Can anyone tell me if there are adverse side effects of uninstalling the Photos App? Replied to a previous answer but didn't get a response. Any help/suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

The Photos app brings together pictures from all your devices using OneDrive, so that you can browse them by date, album or folder. It also automatically enhances photos, and creates albums for you, to showcase your best shots.

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it helps:

Method 1:

I suggest you to change the Default apps in the setting app and verify the result. You may follow the steps in the below:

• Go to settings and system.
  
• Click on Default Apps and select the appropriately.
  

Method 2:

I suggest you to reinstall Photo app using the PowerShell command
and reinstall using the Windows store. Follow the below steps.

• Open the　Start　menu, type　Windows PowerShell　in the search bar.
  
• Right click on the　Windows　PowerShell　and select　Run as　administrator.
  
• Enter the below command to uninstall the Photo app.
  

• 　　get-appxpackage　　*Microsoft.Windows.Photos* | remove-appxpackage
