Windows 10: Photo app on Windows 11 gallery limited to 9 images?

I have upgraded to Windows 11 and found a limitation with the photo app. I have a folder containing 11 image files jpgs which aren't defined to the photo app. On Windows 10 if I opened one of these image files I could navigate through all 11 images using the navigation arrows on the left and right sides of the image. On Windows 11 it displays a gallery of 9 images and using the navigation arrows only moves you through the gallery of images ie 2 images are excluded. If I exit the Photo app and open each image in turn they all display correctly in the Photo app. I did try adding this folde

we're almost there...yes!!
windows 2012 essential, installed all correctly, it is now found in my program & features. I wasn't sure what the next step would be. But i did check to see if Photo Gallery would work, but i received these errors which i have attached. I also attempted to download the file that was needed which i chose the first one, but after reading the details and OS requirement i was unsure if it.

While a nice app with powerful face detection and recognition, the latest version of Microsoft Photos App does not write back Face/People Tag information back to the file, nor exposes Captions, Star Ratings, Tags or Geotags from the photo metadata. I am
hopeful at some point these functionalities would be added. Some suggestions:

- Continue to use Photo Gallery - While it is unsupported, so far it continues to work, as it has been suggested in this thread. For my personal photography workflow I continue to use WPG instead of Photos, mainly because of the same limitations
you mentioned.

- Provide Feedback - There are a couple of suggestions to Microsoft for adding Digital Asset Management features like adding captions, tags, people tags, geotags and ratings to Microsoft Photos in the Windows Feedback Hub. The app is monitored
for feedback and suggestions, I encourage you to contribute and Upvote on features you wish to see in this app.

- Third party applications - There is a good discussion on
Windows Photo Gallery alternatives here.

- Understand how WPG handles metadata - As you mentioned, one of the pluses of Windows Photo Gallery is that is would write back the metadata back to the file as (EXIF, XMP). I have written some posts which may be a bit technical but contains
some info which may be helpful if at some point you need to export your metadata from your image files:

Thanks for your response, but that doesn't seem to do anything in the Photos app I am running under Windows 10.

You mentioned Photo Gallery so I think you may be talking about a different application than the one I am using..
