Windows 10: Photo downloads all pictures from my camera all the time. I just want the new ones. to...

I just want the new ones. to select from. It updated photo and now I get 3600 pictures to pick from.

Downloading photos in Windows 10

Downloading from Panasonic digital camera.

I have followed the steps but "Import/Export photos doesn't appear in the dropdown list. Since this is the first time I am downloading into this computer with Windows 10 it was suggested that I need to load new drivers but I can't seem to find them.

 

My HP laptop won't download photos from my camera.

To better assist you with your concern, we'd like to get the following information:

• What is the complete model name of your device?
• How were you trying to download the photos?
• Are you getting any error messages or error codes? If yes, please send us a screenshot.
  
• Is this the first time that you'll be trying to download pictures from your camera to your new device?

To isolate the issue, we also suggest that you try downloading pictures from another device or camera and check if the same issue will persist.

When I take a photo of myself with my laptop camera, what directory is it placed in?

By default, your pictures should appear in your Pictures\Camera Roll folder. If they aren't there, follow these steps to figure out where they are being saved:

1. Take a picture with the camera app.
   
2. Click the thumbnail of the picture you just took at the bottom right of the app.
   
3. When the photo viewer opens, click the three dots (...) at the top right and select "File Info".
   

A panel will then appear and it will tell you the directory where your picture is located.

If you created your account picture by going to your account settings and then selecting "create your picture -> camera", then the picture will not have been stored in your camera roll. It will be located in %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\AccountPictures as mentioned by @kicken.
