Windows 10: Photo file (.JPG from a Microsoft Edge Panel) appeared (without apparent reason) on the...

The photo file cannot be selected on the Desktop - as a consequence I cannot delete or move it from my Desktop. How do I remove this photo file from my Desktop?

I worked through steps 1 and 2 with no problems detected. I have not experienced Edge crashing so I don't think items 3 or 4 are applicable. There were no updates available within settings for Edge.

Still looking for an answer to this problem. I know that I am not the only person that has pointed out this problem with the Microsoft Edge icon disappearing and not appear on the taskbar when it is open. The icon just disappeared and it is a Windows 10
problem that has not been addressed with any updates. Very frustrating.

Go to Search. Type Edge and if you find it, right click on it to pin it to taskbar.

If the issue persists, then I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

    Run the
    Windows Store Apps troubleshooter.

    Scan for damaged system files. Right-click the Start icon and select
    Command Prompt (Admin). In the Command Prompt window, type
    sfc /scannow and hit Enter.

    If Microsoft Edge only crashes after some time has passed, try deleting cached data and files. In Microsoft Edge, select the “…” icon in the top right corner and chooseSettings.
    Under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear
    and thencached data and files.

    Reset the browser settings by going to
    Control Panel >Internet Options >Advanced >
    Reset. Then reboot Windows.
    
  • 
    Check for updates for Microsoft Edge within
    Settings.
