Windows 10: Photo gone after Windows 10 reinstall by Windows tech in India

Sept 3,2020 I called a Microsoft support number, after a recovery reset performed a week ago messed up my old laptop. The first call fixed registry errors, stopped services, and started a new windows download. After 3.5 hrs it was still at 0 downloading. So I called back got a new tech and case number. I explained I did s Recovery Reset so I dont lose as I dont have an external hard drive. The person did a disk clean up, as my windows was probably corrupted! The download was complete in 25 mins. When my laptop restarted I had 2 icons on my desktop and 6 items in programs. Laptop is working great. Until I went to check my photos, which are now missing. My hard drive is showing 250gb used of 500 gb. The only apps i reinstalled are Google Chrome, Discord. Recycle Bin and Explorer are on my desk top as well. I only use my 2014 notebook to access the Web and store photos and videoe. I had photos from 2015 -2020 were stored on this Laptop.

Is it possible to recover my photos and how? Support is closed. I checked users, documents and a couple other places suggested on the internet.

• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”

[Solved] Windows 10 keeps reinstalling KB3119142

I noticed quite some time ago that KB3119142 (Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Update 4 Redistributable Package) kept reinstalling itself for some reason. At least once daily. Sometimes up to several times a day. I just ignored it. It didn't seem to be doing any harm. And I figured they'd eventually fix it. Well...days turned into weeks, weeks into months, with no end to the problem in sight. It dragged on unsolved for at least the last few months. Literally reinstalling itself hundreds of(at least a hundred, felt like more) times in that period of time.

So I finally googled it a couple days ago. And just got around to fixing it today. Which appears to have worked. And it couldn't have been easier to do. I feel so stupid to have let it intimidate me for so long.*Oops!
