Windows 10: Photo tags not saving in OneDrive folder in File Explorer.

When I go to add tags to photos via Properties in File Explorer, it shows the tags correctly initially, however after OneDrive syncs the file, the tags revert back to what they were prior to the change. This happens on machines running Windows 11 and Windows 10 Pro.

Hello Rick, sorry about your problems. My name is Marco and I will do my best to help you.

OneDrive automatically creates tags for recognized objects in photos. This feature may be overwriting the manually added tags during the sync process. You can try disabling this feature in OneDrive settings to see if it resolves the issue.

To do this: Open OneDrive on the web.

Click the Settings (gear) menu button.

Click on "Options."

Click on "Photos" from the left side.

Turn off the "Use tags to find and organize photos" toggle switch to disable auto-tagging.

Thank you, Marco. Good suggestion, but unfortunately this did not seem to fix the issue. I'll add a tag to, say, IMG_4600.JPG, and the OneDrive history will say "Uploaded IMG_4600.JPG", and then several seconds later, "Downloaded IMG_4600.JPG" and the tag is gone.
