Windows 10: Photo Viewer "Save As' Issue

I use the photo viewer and editor app in Windows 10. I often edit a photo and use the "save as" feature to create a new photo while saving the original. On one of my computers, when I use this feature after I crop, a new version is created automatically with a 2 addition to the original name. When I began to edit on a different computer, rather then automatically being rename, I am forced to select a file and rename the new file myself. How do I change the settings to make my edits automatically rename?

Just do not like this "new" photo viewer, it is just cumbersome to operate, lot of extra steps etc. I like the older Win photo viewer, however since JPG files are saved as "unhandled Extension handler finder", *Confused I need something else. Appreciate any suggestions that is not overly optioned, just a simple viewer. Tx

I just use the Photos app for a quick view, otherwise I use Adobe Lightroom to view and edit photos.
