Windows 10: Photos app has been broken for four years; how to prevent update

Hello,Photos app has been getting significantly worse with every update. It is taking longer and longer to launch on a gaming computer, it is not showing ANY photos in my library despite there being over 20 GB of photos, I can't even zoom with the scroll wheel, it's missing basic features like editing, and the worst part is giant advertisements for services I already have pop up over my pictures because Microsoft feels the need to be greedy instead of just giving me a product that functions as intended.How can I keep the photos app on version 2020.20120.4004.0 instead of the new broken version

New update for photos update available. Downloaded manually, went in ok first time. Working across all user accounts. Suggest for users with multiple user accounts to create a restore point first. If the update fails first time it can render the app broken for other user accounts based on past experience.

Photos are opening with Paint instead of Photos app

It's likely that your default application for opening photos is Paint. To change your default program in Windows 10 from
Paint to the Photo app, we suggest that you perform the following steps:

• Select Photos or any app that you like to be the default under
