Windows 10: Photos App in Windows 11 modifies quality when opening photo brightness issue

I'm running Windows 11, and I'm having problems with the Photos app. When I double click a photo, it opens with the Photos app, but the quality/colours/brightness/contrast of the photo looks totally wrong. The "thumbnails" AND the "preview" of the photos in File Explorer are correct, it's only when double clicking the photos that the problem happens. It works fine with a third-party photo viewer. I'm at my wits' end trying to find an answer for this problem. I'm running Windows 11 Pro, and I'm having problems with the Photos app. When I double click a photo, it opens with the Photos app, but the quality/colours/brightness/contrast of the photo looks totally wrong. The "thumbnails" AND the "preview" of the photos in File Explorer are correct, it's only when double clicking the photos that the problem happens. Today I even installed a third-party photo viewer to check if the problem was with my computer in general, but no, the other app shows the photo correctly. It's only the Photos app that has the issue. I tried to show a side-by-side comparison here, the correct original photo is on the Right side. The one on the Left is how Photos app shows it (completely different). My work is heavily based on photos so I need to get this fixed. Can anyone help, please?

 

Photos are opening with Paint instead of Photos app

It's likely that your default application for opening photos is Paint. To change your default program in Windows 10 from
Paint to the Photo app, we suggest that you perform the following steps:

• On the Start menu, select Settings.
  
• Go to System, then go to Default apps.
  
• Select Photos or any app that you like to be the default under
  Photo viewer.

Unable to open the photos in Photos App
