    Photos app keeps freezing, everytime I open an image.


    This annoying issue has been bothering me for a long time! I don't know what's causing this and why an like this app keeps being unresponsive. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

    Photos are opening with Paint instead of Photos app

    Hello,

    It's likely that your default application for opening photos is Paint. To change your default program in Windows 10 from
    Paint to the Photo app, we suggest that you perform the following steps:

    • On the Start menu, select Settings.
    • Go to System, then go to Default apps.
    • Select Photos or any app that you like to be the default under
      Photo viewer.

    Update us if the steps above helped you in resolving your concern.

    Error opening Image in Windows 10

    Hi,

    This issue may have happened because the default application to open your photos is corrupted or the photos are corrupted. We would like to know if it is happening to all your pictures?

    For now, we suggest that you repair Photos app by following these steps:

    • Click Windows icon then click Settings.
    • Select Apps.
    • Under Apps & features, search for Photos and click
      Advanced options.
    • Click Reset.
    • Restart your computer then try opening your pictures.
