Windows 10: Photos app not working correctly.

Hello, community.For some reason, my photos app isn't working correctly.It opens some images perfectly fine, but then for some it does nothing.The photo attached is what I see when opening an image.Videos work perfectly fine.Please can you tell me what's happened and how to fix it?

Automatic Update Made Photo Editing Not Work Correctly

This is NOT solved--just fixed.
Microsoft ran an automated update a couple of days ago and now photo editing is not working the way it did previously. I shoot a lot of photos for a local news website and after editing, saved them with new names that help me sort--so, for example, football photos might be F1, f2, etc. After the update, when i edit a photo, it saves only as a copy of the original name (IMG4028, for example, so I get IMG4028(2). Only after I do that, do I get the "save as" option back, which means i either give up my naming convention or have two or more copies of everything.
Any suggestions? The "save as" option does not appear in the first step anymore.

ADDED: It's the software that came bundled with the Windows 10 Edge computer--it's just the Photos app.

Photo App not working correctly after Windows 10 Anniversary Update

We understand your concern in this regard.

• How about opening images from different location? Like desktop or from other drive partition?
• Is this issue specific to JPG files?

With your description, we tried to reproduce the issue and found no issues with the same. Suggest you try with the below mentioned troubleshooting steps and check if they sort out the issue.

Check for an update to Photos app in Windows Store.
Launch Windows Store, click on your Profile on top right of Windows Store, and select
Download and Updates. Now click
Check for updates, to see if any update available for Photos app.
Once update is installed, open Photos app to see if problem still persist.

In case problem still persist, then I suggest you to reset the Photo app database by following the below steps and see if it helps.

* Press Windows Key + R to open run command.

* Copy/paste or Type the following path into the run command

%appdata%\..\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.Photos_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState

* Erase all the contents of that folder and then try to open the Photo app to check if problem still persist.

If you are importing photos from your iPhone using the Photo app in Windows 10. We suggest running the Windows app troubleshooter to correct its behavior. You can run the troubleshooter from this
link.

Resetting the app can also help fix this issue. Here's how.

• Open Settings from the Start menu and select
  Apps.
• Select Photos from the list of applications, and select
  Advanced options.
• Select Reset.
