Windows 10: Photos app photo quality issues - printer prints too fast, creating lines.

When I print photos from the microsoft photos app, the color quality is great but the printer is printing too fast and creates horizontal lines as it prints. When I print from anywhere else google drive, file explorer, I'm able to adjust the settings so that the printer prints slower and doesn't have horizontal lines, but the color quality isn't as good. How can I adjust the settings in the photos app so that it prints slower and avoids those lines? I use an HP Photosmart 5520 for reference, however it's clear to me that the printer isn't the issue.

When I print photos through the photo app, it does not print evenly. There is a thick line that prints brighter than the rest of the picture so it looks like a fat line through people's faces. This is not a printer issue- it prints fine if I print through
the edit/paint app, but then I can't adjust the size (e.g., 5x7, 4x6, etc.). Is this a Microsoft issue that the company needs to fix through an update? Or is there a way to fix this?

 

What is best quality color printer (Photo Quality) under $300

Admittedly I don't have a printer today, but used Epson extensively in the past. Have some photos on the wall printed 10+ years ago that are still clear and vivid. For $300 you can get a Photo model, good for prints up to 13" wide on a variety of paper types. If you need that $300 to cover the printer and supplies (photo paper) there are cheaper models which won't print as wide but still are of great quality. My last one was $150 and did great 4x6, 5x7, and 8x10 prints.

Above all to keep an inkjet well-maintained you must regularly use it. If you don't see yourself printing out photos every week then I'd advise seeking out a print shop. Otherwise for high-volume and/or a hobbyist that wants a lot of control over the printing process then I'd recommend Epson.
