Windows 10: Photos app will not play video audio if files stored on OneDrive Business. Why?

Hoping there I can gain some insight into my issue with audio and Photos. Situation and Problem: - Photos app is linked to a OneDrive Business account.- Files are not stored locally due to save disk space. - All photos and videos appear in the thumbnails check!. - Videos can 'play' but there is no audio. problem- If video is stored locally, there is audio. Environment: - Windows 11 Home North America - up to date. - Photos not the Legacy version - up to date- OneDrive for Business this is important difference from PersonalInvestigations so far: - codecs? specifically a Web package

Problem playing .MOV files on Windows Photos App

If the suggested steps didn't help, you can run the following in a Command Window to re-register the Store app: powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.xml.

You may also use other media or video player. This is to check if the .MOV file that you're trying to play on Windows Photo can be played.

No sound while playing audio and video files.

I appreciate if you could answer to a few questions to narrow down to the issue.

• Which is the application that you are using to play the files?
• Did you try the same on a different player?
• Did you perform any troubleshooting steps?

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest you to check if the volume is set low or in mute state in Volume Mixer.

• Right click on sound icon.
• Open Volume Mixer check for the application that you are playing the files with and increase the volume and check.

If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to run “Playing audio” troubleshooter to diagnose and fix the issue.

Follow these Steps to run Playing Audio Troubleshooter in Windows 10.

1. Type troubleshooting in the search bar.

2. Select Troubleshooting.

3. Select View all on the top left corner.

4. Click on Playing audio.
