Windows 10: Photos copied from Android to Windows 10 disappeared

Hi, on September 6, 2024, I created 3 folders in My Pictures and copied photos from my Android phone into the each of them. Once completed, I disconnected the phone, my wife and I reviewed the photos 2,000 + between the 3 folders and then I deleted them from my Android device. We then went on Vacation 2 days later. Upon return 3 weeks later, I immediately logged into my PC to download Copy/Paste the new photos from our trip into a newly created folder. As soon as I finished, I opened one of the previously created folders and there were no photos there. Then I checked the other 2 fold

I suggest you to try copying the photos by following the below steps:

• Connect the iPhone to Windows 10
  computer
• Close the prompted window
• Press Windows + E key on the keyboard (it will show the phone as drive)
• Now you can copy and paste the pictures & videos into your Windows drive.

The 'Photos' app for photo viewing has disappeared.

I do not understand this, when I returned to the PC later today my original settings had returned to the start screen, including one other tile which I had also lost but had not yet re-instated. Also the original list of 'All apps' had returned to the start
screen, including 'Photos'. There is nothing that I am aware of having done that should have caused the original disappearance of some apps from the 'All apps' list and their associated tiles, or that could have caused them to return.

It has therefore been unnecessary to follow your suggested steps, though I have done so anyway and it works as suggested. Note that I had followed your steps 1 & 2 earlier which is why I knew 'Photos' had not disappeared from the PC but was simply not
visible on the 'All apps' list and hence my inability to re-pin the tile.

It seems the photos could've disappeared because of a corruption in the application. To address this issue, we suggest that you run the Windows app troubleshooter to scan and fix for any issues within the Photos app. To run the troubleshooter, refer to this
