Windows 10: Photos in recycle bin and photos folder

    Photos in recycle bin and photos folder


    Why do Photos show up in Recycle Bin that were never deleted, and are still in my Photos folder? I'm now afraid to empty recycle bin for fear of losing photos, or anything else that I never physically deleted.

    Windows 10 Photos Recycle Bin

    I am seeing in Windows 10 that photos are ending up in the recycle bin that I have not deleted. How are these photos being sent to the recycle bin and why?

    Hi George,

    To prevent your files from being deleted from the Recycle Bin, we suggest increasing the maximum file size your Recycle Bin can keep by following the steps below:

    • Right click on the Recycle Bin icon.
    • Under the Settings for selected location, select Custom size.
    • Fill up the box for your allotted maximum file size for your Recycle Bin.

    Photos in recycle bin and photos folder

    Why are my photos being dumped in Recycling Bin?

    When transferring photos between folders, some get kicked to the Recycling Bin. I have lost too many business photos and who knows what else. Is there a way to fix this?
