Windows 10: Photos on my computer

I have a windows 10 computer that has "pictures" and "photos"...I can export the "pictures" to an external drive. But, the "photos" are stuck and I don't know how to download to my external. I guess this is an app on microsoft that doesn't really keep it anywhere I think I read that correctly from a thread in 2015. At the top of the page, it says onedrive, but no pictures or photos are in it. Do I have to buy more whatever to get them to actually get on the onedrive "app?"? I am sooooo frustrated, I accidentally let my external put 23,000 photos on this stupid app or whatever it is and I want them off it is slowing down my computer.


Please tell me how to export those "photos". I have tried to "copy" but I have no idea where it copied to.

Lost default photo viewer after profile rebuild

Thanks Brink. I've tried those steps before i started searching Google. After the profile rebuild i don't have the Photo app listed to choose to make it default in either the system settings for default apps or the Open With option.

I can't even find it doing a search. Seems to have been removed somehow with the profile rebuild, which doesn't make sense.

Might be helpful to list what i've done I've done the open with check, the choose default program in the system menu, tried that in device manager default programs also. I've checked the programs and features Turn windows features on/off and it's not listed there (never thought it was but that was a suggestion), searched the MS Store, it's not listed there either.

I don't like playing in the registry unless i have defined steps and haven't found anything for this yet, just the Win7 version like in my OP.

 

Multiple Photos

We suggest that you follow the steps below to delete the photo through Photos app:

• If you’re looking at your list of photos in Photos app, select the photos by clicking on checkbox on the photos you want to delete. Click
  Delete icon at the bottom right corner to delete.
• If you open a photo, Tap or press Delete
  key from keyboard.

This issue often caused by a corrupted files. For us to have your Photo app working, we suggest that you restore Photos app package by following these steps:

• Click on Start.
• Type PowerShell, and select Windows PowerShell
  from the list of result.
• Type this command and press Enter:
  • Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
• Restart your computer. Check if the issue persists.
