Windows 10: Photos shows a white background and becomes responsive after opening an image.

I have uploaded the related screenshots here: https://imgur.com/a/xsFu7Tp.

The image can be opened in other apps (e.g. my browser, gimp, the good old Paint, etc.) without any issues.

How to make the goddamn Photos app work without derping all the time?

CHANGE THE BACKGROUND TO WHITE

Greetings! I am Vijay, an Independent Advisor. You will have edit the picture in any photo editor say Paint. In Paint, you can open this and fill the background with White.

If you haven't used Paint or any other program, let me know so that can I give you step by step instructions.

 

UNABLE TO OPEN IMAGES AND VIDEOS

Hi,

Have you tried performing the troubleshooting steps listed in the article given by
Robert Caw? It was posted above.

As a workaround, you may try these steps:

• Right-click the photo or video.
• You'll see a pop-up box, choose Open With.
• Then choose Paint or Photos to open an image.
  
  (There are also options to open videos when you click Open With.)

Solid White as a Background

hey,

As I can see, no white background appears in the list of Solid colors.

You may google White picture, save it to the desktop and set it as desktop background.
