Windows 10: photos slideshow bogs down after using cursor arrow keys

I have a folder with 1000+ photos all jpg. If I double click on a photo and wait several seconds, then a 'start slideshow' icon appears near the top left, between 'Share' and 'See more'. The slideshow displays each photo for about five seconds then goes to the next photo. That seems to work great! But I can also use the left and right cursor arrow keys to move backward and forward at my own pace. After I use the cursor arrow keys and then let it continue on its own pace, it frequently works for about 20-50 more slides then gets bogged down with a 'retrieving file' message that briefly

  Where does the photos folder located?

  Did you try to change the folder location and check?
  

I suggest you to follow the below steps:

Step 1: If the photos folder is located on the desktop, try to create another folder and copy all the content to the newly created folder and add this folder for slideshow and check.



Step 2: Try to create new folder if different location and copy all the content to the newly created folder in different location and add this folder for slideshow and check.

Photo App's arrow keys and slideshow don't work

Hi,

Suddenly the Photo app can't no longer scroll through a folder of pictures.

No arrow keys are visible. Nor can I use the keyboard arrow keys. Nothing happens.

And if I start the slideshow only one single picture is viewing, repeating itself...

I have run the troubleshooter and also restored and reset the app in Settings > App and Features. Issue remains.

What is wrong here?

photo app - How can I do a slideshow in an album? I only see the slideshow option outside of albums.

I suggest you to follow the below steps for the slideshow option and check if it helps.

• 
  Open the “Photo App”
  
• 
  Go to any three options “Collection”, “Albums” and “Folders”.
  
• 
  Click on any “Photo” and press the key “F5” it will launch slide show.
