    Physical Damage to Laptop

Recently, I found myself in a frustrating situation while working on an essay using one of my older laptops. In a moment of frustration, I let out my annoyance by slamming my hand onto the lower right section of the laptop, the very spot where my hand usually rested during typing. To my estimation, I applied about 2/10ths of my strength, though I must admit, I do have rather large hands. The immediate consequence of my outburst was unexpected and worrisome—the laptop's screen glitched and froze. In a bid to rectify the situation, I opted for a soft restart by pressing the power key. Fortunate

    :)

HARDWARE problem with LCD screen PHYSICAL damage (NOT Graphics Card!)

Thank you. However, it repaired itself before, and by trying some of the online suggested physical actions, there was some change but not enough to warrant further messing with it.

Unfortunately I do not have a camera except for the laptop's webcam, and since the problem is not in the computer per se, taking a screenshot does not show the spot so I had to use the only large mirror I have which has a degraded surface.

HERE is a pic I just now took with the G2 webcam (without further cleaning)

Am a degreed Physicist + Engineer w MBA, used to be an in-house consultant at General Dynamics for issues no one else could handle or solve, and while I readily admit to my own stupid mistakes, in general I am not a total dope and do my best to clarify and correct.

If anyone has a positive suggestion as requested in the OP, please post it. For the record I am "living with the spot" and am at least open to see if it self-repairs as it mysteriously did with the LARGE segmented lines 2 years ago. Thanks
