Windows 10: "Pick an app" ms-cortana2 link problem

Others have asked this but the threads are locked with no solution.I have a new Lenovo IdeaPad 3i with Windows 11. At odd times, like when I copy something out of a web page into a Word doc, I get notices in the Taskbar to “Get an app to open this ‘ms-cortana2’ link” I have no idea what that is or why it happens, sometimes multiple times and I have to close each one.This is the message: Get an app to open this ‘ms-cortana2’ link. Your PC doesn’t have an app that can open this link. Try looking for a compatible app in the Microsoft Store.My computer doesn't have Cortana.I disabled “Lenovo Fn an

Can't Open Links from MS Outlook

OK. Got it working but now it's opening to MS Edge. I prefer IE11. Tried resetting defaults and associations but can't get urls, etc to open into IE11.

Windows Photos Viewer is an oddity; as I suggested, find a free downloadable image viewer you like, and use that.

I use a program in building my family tree- it lets me use an external viewer- simply whatever is set as default. Here you can see it displays the image in Photoviewer. I imagine Vuescanner requires you to specify the path literally.

 

Can't Open Links from MS Outlook


Suggestions :

1. Do a system restore. Pick a date you did NOT have this problem as your restore point.

2. If the above does not help, go to Programs and Features > scroll down to Microsoft office > right click at it > click Change > click Repair.

Make sure you restart the computer.
