Windows 10: Pick an application. On the task bar an icon for pick an application appears every time I...

An icon with a right pointing green arrow for "pick an application" appears every time I open windows. The icon appears on the task bar and seems to allow app pinning to task bar, but I don't need it, I can accomplish this if I want to without it it is an unnecessary step and its a bit annoying. I have to "close the window" every time to remove it by right clicking on it and clicking close window. Is there a setting to stop it appearing every time I log on please?

  Are referring any application when you say fn menu?
  

I would suggest you to follow the below steps and check smart audio is listed under icons appear on task bar.

• 
  On system tray right click on date and time
  
• 
  Click on customize notification icon
  
• 
  Click on Select which icons appear on task bar
  
• 
  And see if you are able to see Conexant smart audio

Windows/Xbox Game Bar wont pick up Microphone if it is being used by another application (discord, skype, etc) *not working*

To address this, I suggest checking the settings in the other applications you are using to ensure they are not conflicting with the Xbox Game Bar. Alternatively, you could try temporarily disabling the microphone in the other applications while using the Xbox Game Bar.

task bar icons blank

After applying the november windows 10 home update three of my task bar icons have become blank sheets. The ones changed are edge, store and wunderlist. The remainder are fine. The icons of the three appear correct in the all apps list. I have tried
unpin and re-pin with no change. The three applications work correctly and start fine from the task bar. It is just hard to remember which application is which blank. Note this has happened on my hp laptop which was upgraded from windows 8.1, My desktop
which has windows 10 professional does not have the problem. It was upgraded from windows 7 professional.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
