Windows 10: Picked the wrong default operatinf system

So i had a bluescreen everytime I booted the PC showing which operating system to run. I saw a quick fix to how to pick the default operating system by choosing it. I choose the other one that has my pc currently in a bootloop. Any help? Any Solutions without getting my files deleted? Please I need this ASAP!!

Cannot Pick Internet Explorer 11 as Default Browser

Hi Hill,

If I understand you correctly you are willing to change the default web browser to Internet Explorer which is currently Microsoft Edge, correct me if I am wrong. Here are the steps which might help you to set your default apps.

• Press the Windows key or the start icon at the left bottom.
• Click on settings.
• On the settings page click on System.

• On the System page click on Default apps.

• Click on Microsoft Edge which set as default under Web browser.
• Now you will be able to select Internet Explorer under choose an app.

Lost default photo viewer after profile rebuild

Thanks Brink. I've tried those steps before i started searching Google. After the profile rebuild i don't have the Photo app listed to choose to make it default in either the system settings for default apps or the Open With option.

I can't even find it doing a search. Seems to have been removed somehow with the profile rebuild, which doesn't make sense.

Might be helpful to list what i've done I've done the open with check, the choose default program in the system menu, tried that in device manager default programs also. I've checked the programs and features Turn windows features on/off and it's not listed there (never thought it was but that was a suggestion), searched the MS Store, it's not listed there either.

I don't like playing in the registry unless i have defined steps and haven't found anything for this yet, just the Win7 version like in my OP.

I would suggest you to try the following steps:

• Click "Search" and type File explorer options,Select it from the options
  
• Click on Restore defaults.
• Click Apply and OK.
