Windows 10: picture folder not showing thumbnails

I transferred some photos from my phone to a flash drive using an otg adapter then I transferred them from flash drive to computer. I put them in my pictures folder on my hard drive. I have 2 hard drives. The ssd and hdd. I named my hdd E. So I made a pictures folder in that drive and transferred them to my computer. When I open up the folder there are these blue images and not the thumbnails on most of them. I went to folder options and show icons and not thumbnails was already unchecked. I tried disk cleanup and it doesn't show anything on the E drive, just recycle bin and directx shader cache. I don't know what to do. How can I fix this?

File Explorer>Pictures>Open Pictures.

If Your Photos come up as just a List and don't show up as Thumbnails, look at the Two Small Icons at the Bottom Right of the Screen and 'Toggle' between them.

The first one gives you a List View and the other one gives you a Thumbnail View.

Or you could Click: View at the Top of the Screen and then you Can not only see your Photos as Thumbnails but you can also choose the Size.

Many thanks for you reply. I have done all the steps you suggested, but no change,

When I open a folder containing photos, some open correctly but the vast majority open with thumbnails, but they very quickly get overwritten and you can not longer see the thumbnails.

Are there any more suggestions?

 

Picture folder not showing thumbnails-tried several fixes but they didn't work.

I am running Windows 10 64 bit. The picture icons just stopped showing thumbnails and I can't get them to turn back on. It is affecting all users on this PC.

Here is what I have tried so far that hasn't worked:

-I already confirmed that in pictures folder-view-options-change folder and search options-view-always show icons never thumbnails is NOT checked. I checked it, waited a while, then unchecked it.

-I used disk cleanup to clear thumbnails.

-Control panel-system-Advanced system settings-advanced-performance settings, show thumbnails is checked. I unchecked it, clicked ok, waited, then went back in an checked it and clicked ok.

Any other suggestions?
