Windows 10: Picture upload to photo uses local hard drive space

I am new to Photo and Onedrive. I want to upload photos and videos from my external hard drive to the cloud. I started Phot Legacy on my laptop and used "import from a folder" to import pictures and videos from a folder on my USB hard drive. The import was successful and I can see the photos and videos using my phone or other PCs that are connected to my Onedrive cloud. As I imported more pictures and videos, I got a warning saying that I was low on drive space. My laptop only has a 200G SSD. I checked my C drive. The folder C:\Users\xxxx\OneDrive\Pictures\Camera Roll where xxxx is my user

Can't convince Photos app to use local pictures file...



- the right hand one is in Pictures.

I suggest putting an image file in a folder not under a user account, adding that folder, and seeing if that is recognised and displayed.

If you look in Photo's settings you'll see this...





Your Pictures folder is where the images are actually stored on your PC's hard drive. Your Albums in Photos are an index that is just used internally by Photos to make it easy for you to access and organise your pictures. It bears no relation to the true physical location of the file on your disk. If you want to find out which disk folder an Album picture is actually in, then right-click on the picture in Photos and select Open in File Explorer.

For us to better assist you with this issue, we would like to ask the following questions:

• What browser did you use when uploading photos in Ebay?
• From which location are you trying to upload the photos?
• Are the photos saved on the Pictures folder, or on the desktop?

To isolate this problem, we suggest using a different browser in uploading the photos. If the photos are saved on the desktop, moved it in the Pictures folder and try uploading again.
