  1. Pin code complexity remains after deleting school or work account

I have:Windows 11 Home 22H2 Build 22621.1702 Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22641.1000.0I have an OEM license key.Today I decided to add my school account to my PC because I would like to use Office on my PC instead of only on my laptop. After I added it I went away to make some food. When I logged in again it said that I needed to change my PIN. I changed my pin and then I went to the settings and deleted my school account since I want to be able to use my own pin. I restarted my pc. Then I changed my PIN, but it still said that it needs to be at least 6 digits and cannot have patterns

    :)

  2. Cannot change PIN complexity or PIN storage

Hi PaytonWesley. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, specializing in Installation, Performance, Troubleshooting and Activation, here to help you.

There should be no PIN complexity rules if you aren't part of an organization that's applying Group Policy. Make sure there are no accounts in Settings > Accounts > Access Work & School or Email & Other Accounts. If so you'll either need to contact the System Admin for work or school or disconnect and remove those accounts.

The other ways this can happen is if your PC admin set PIN Complexity in Group Policy which is disabled here: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...,

Or your account is corrupted. Test for account corruption by creating a new Local Admin account to see if the problem goes away. Step-by-step instructions here:

    https://www.isumsoft.com/windows-10/3-ways-to-c...

Sign into the new account, test it works correctly, if so move files over, test all apps work or reinstall any that don't. Then when ready delete the old account in Settings > Accounts > Family & Other Users.

You can also try to Repair the old account by running a Repair Install from the new account, steps here: https://www.tomshardware.com/how-to/fix-windows...

You can change it to your Microsoft account if desired:

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5375-switch...

Based on the results you post back I may have other suggestions if necessary.

Fix "Work or School account problem" after deleting an e-mail account.

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I appreciate the efforts taken by you in resolving the issue. I understand that you are receiving an error related to your email account. I’ll certainly assist you with the issue.

    However, please let us know:

    • When you say “I deleted the e-mail account” do you mean deleting the Microsoft account or deleting the account from your computer?
    • Are you using a Microsoft account to login to the computer?

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to refer the troubleshooting steps mentioned below and see if that helps:

    1. Press Windows logo key + I, to open
      Settings.
    2. Click on Accounts, and select
      Access work or school
      from the left pane.
    3. Now, click on the email account and select
      Disconnect
      .
    4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

If this doesn’t work, you may want to try converting the account to a local account and see if that helps. Refer the steps mentioned below:

    1. Press Windows logo key + I, to open
      Settings.
    2. Click on Accounts and select
      Your info
      from the left pane.
    3. Click on Sign in with a local account instead.
    4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

Let us know how it goes.
