Windows 10: Pin Google Chrome to Taskbar by default for new users in Windows 10

I would like to ask how to pin Google Chrome to taskbar by default for new users in Windows 10.When I used Windows 7, if I Install Google Chrome Google Chrome Stable, Google Chrome Beta or Google Chrome Dev, the Chrome icon will pin to taskbar automatically and when create new user, Google Chrome is on the taskbar.But in Windows 10, Chrome doesn't pin by default for new users.This is default taskbar layout for new users. Google Chrome doesn't pin automatically for new users.Default Taskbar layout in Windows 7.

How to pin Google Chrome backk to Taskbar after reset on Windows 10?

I understand that you are referring to Google Chrome from Taskbar after reset on your computer.

Do let us know the following to assist you better:

• How have you performed reset on your computer?
• Were you able to find Google Chrome in Start menu under All apps?
• Is this issue confined only with Google Chrome?

Please be informed when you perform Reset on your computer by selecting Keep my files, all the applications and updates installed on your computer will be removed you will have to download reinstall all those.

Step 1: If you are able find the Google Chrome
in Start menu under All apps, right-click on
Google Chrome, click on More and on Pin to Taskbar.

Step 2: If reset has uninstalled the application, try to download Google Chrome from the below link using Internet Explorer

Later follow Step 1 to pin it to Taskbar

How to pin Google Chrome with a specific user (profile) to Windows 10 taskbar?

From 2016 to today (2019-01) this has changed and previous solutions no longer work. I've only found this tedious process that works for me:

1. Pin any running Chrome to the task bar (regardless of what profile)
   
2. Open %AppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar
   
3. Open Chrome's properties, extend the target with --profile-directory="Default"
   
4. Change "Default" into the corresponding folder name from %userprofile%\appdata\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data, e.g. "Profile 1"
   
5. For more than one pinned Chromes, copy this file and adapt
   

 

Can't change default browser to Google Chrome

Have you done these steps?

On your computer, click the Start menu Start menu.

Click Settings Settings.

Open your default apps:

Original version: Click System and then Default apps.

Creators Update: Click Apps and then Default apps.

At the bottom, under "Web browser," click your current browser (typically Microsoft Edge).

In the "Choose an app" window, click Google Chrome.

To easily open Chrome later, add a shortcut to your taskbar:

On your computer, open Chrome.

In the Windows taskbar at the bottom, right-click on Chrome.

Click Pin to taskbar.
