    Pin Log In Unavailable Every Other Day


    For years I have always logged into windows 10 with a pin code. Lately, windows has stopped giving me the option to use a pin code.It isn't happening every day, but every second or third day the option just isn't there, I have to use my normal password - which is 64 characters long so hard to remember. The "sign in options" button isn't available.I have to click the "forgotten password" option to go into a different screen and cancel it, only then do i see the alternative sign in options and can select pin code again.Is this something microsoft have broken in one of their recent updates?I have

    Using Win10 on an HP Pavillion Gaming Laptop

    PIN went away. Now when I go into create a PIN I get "Something went wrong. Try again later". The step prior is: Start.>Settings>Accounts>Sign in Options>Windows Hello PIN and it reads "This options is currently unavailable - click to learn more". I
    followed the steps suggested, but they don't work

    Suggestions?.

    Pin is unavaible and required to log in

    When I turn my computer on it now requires a pin to log in to the computer, yet after log in I go into setting to change the pin and it tells me the pin option is unavailable. It is requiring a pin to log in and then telling me the pin option to log in is unavailable on this device.

    Yeap, another post says:
    The option for forced safe mode - which is the first suggested method to access safe mode by Microsoft with no ability to reply to that suggestion - by using msconfig and selecting "Diagnostic Startup" results in this issue where the PIN can never be used again until the operating system is completely reinstalled. Even the restore point does not undo this option, and there is no way to deselect this option without logging into Windows, which forever after selecting it cannot be done. Thanks to all of Microsoft's "help" above, we now know with absolute certainty that selecting "Diagnostic Startup" - which was their first suggestion for getting into safe mode - completely corrupts the operating system irreparably.
