Windows 10: Pin must be changed due to my "Organization"... But no access to NGC folder.

I am having an issue with my recently purchased laptop within the last 6-7 months which has now required me to change my PIN twice. When I went looking for a solution, I found the following thread here:

Which I started working through... But, when I got to the NGC folder or more correctly, attempted to find the "Appdata" folder in the directory given by changing the "hidden" files to be shown... I don't have access. I'm the only user on the laptop, and I have administrative access on my computer. But it will not allow me to allow hidden folders to be shown in at least this file location haven't tested elsewhere. In addition, when I used the "run" to get into the Microsoft\NGC folder, I get "You don't currently have permission to access this folder"... I am given the option to get access, which if I follow to the end, gives me in the advanced section of the Security tab "You do not have permission to view this object's security properties, even as an administrative user" and it wants me to take ownership of the object.


Some background: I can perhaps see one organization having access to this, which is my University... But it would only have said access from downloading Lockdown Browser, or from connecting to their public internet on campus. If that is the case, how would I find that they are the organization my computer is affiliated with, and if it's from the internet use, how can I remove it? I will be required to keep the Lockdown Browser for a bit due to finals coming up, but won't have to appear on campus again until possibly graduation.


If it isn't from my University, how can I fix these issues, as they are quite annoying to try and remember every 8 weeks or so a new passcode.

Windows Hello Pin won't allow setup - Tried Ngc folder contents deletion

At some point I stopped being able to log in with my PIN or fingerprint reader. Since logging on with my password and trying to reset the PIN I have not been able to use Windows Hello.

Trying to add a new PIN leads to the eventual message of "Something went wrong. We weren't able to set up your pin..."

Following instructions from various help forums I have deleted the contents of the Ngc folder and have also tried resetting the Access Control Lists on the Ngc folder. Neither of these things have worked.

Does anyone have any further suggestions?

 

Cannot add a PIN to login. Can't get access to NGC folder

Hi Katie,

When a PIN log-in credentials cannot add or doesn’t show up on your local account, there’s a possibility that your user account has been corrupted. You can resolve this by deleting everything on the
Ngc folder, so you create a new PIN for your computer. To do this, perform the following steps below:

• Press Windows + I to open Settings.
• Click Accounts.
• On the left pane, click Sign-in Options.
• Click Add a PIN.
• Follow the instruction to add a new PIN.
• Test your PIN using the Command Prompt (Admin).
• If you cannot find the Command Prompt (Admin), you can enable it by using the
  Command Prompt and type the net user administrator /active:yes.
• After enabling the built-in Administrator Account, you may now log on and try resetting the password of the account which is not working. You may disable it later once you are done by entering
  net user administrator /active:no in Command Prompt. You can use this also if you want to change passwords or PINs in other User Accounts.

No NGC folder

hi! after some major update happened to may laptop i had a hard time logging to my account using the PIN password. I want to fix this by deleting files in NGC folder but this folder is nowhere to find. There's no NGC folder in the appdata . I tried to
find it everywhere but there's none.Please help me
