Windows 10: PIN no longer available AND I do not know my pw/cannot verify my Microsoft account

Hello world!I'm using my husband's account because I don't currently have access to my own Microsoft account and apparently you can't post here unless you have an account eye rollA couple days ago I went to log on to my computer and it said:"Your PIN is no longer available due to a change to the security settings on this device. Click to set up your PIN again."with options: "Set up my PIN " or "Sign-in options"my computer is an HP, and I have Windows 10When I choose to Set up my PIN or Sign-in options, I am asked my Microsoft account password.I do not know it. Who knows how long ago I set

Microsoft Account PIN and password

We appreciate the screenshot that you provided. to start troubleshooting the issue with you logins, we suggest that you follow the steps below on how login pin goes back to password:

• Click Start menu and go to Settings.
• In Settings, click the Accounts icon.
• Click on Sign-in options.
• Change both your password and pin one by one.

Can't use my PIN to login any longer

To further assist you in signing in to your Windows computer, you can follow the steps provided below:

• 
  From your
  lockscreen, check if the "Sign-in option" is available.
  
• 
  Then click the option to use PIN.
  
• 
  Enter PIN.
  
  

If that didn't work, we highly suggest that you create a new account/PIN that you can use to log in to your computer.

Your PIN is no longer available

I have a different version of the PIN issue... Brand new Pro6. i setup facial recognition... activated office... accepted some kind of update... seems normal for a brand new machine....

next day... turn on asks for a PIN... but then tells me my PIN is no longer working... Facial and PW do not work,,, there are no restore points to go back to... have done the hard reset and soft reset trying to get back to the original version of W10...
no luck... no backup... nomability to restore on my new surface 6... love the device... looking for an adult beverage after several hours reviewing hundreds of posts...

any suggestions?
