Windows 10: Pin no longer works after bios update. Don't remember password or security questions.

I just updated my computer's bios and it disabled my ability to use my pin. The password seems to be a local one that I set up over a year ago that I don't remember my MS account password doesn't work either. I don't remember what answers I put for my security questions and there doesn't seem to be a way to make a recovery disk. Now I'm basically locked out of my desktop pc.

PIN no longer works following Bios update

I recently updated to Windows 11. After it updated to that, it then went straight to updating the Bios. After the updates were completed it says "Your PIN is no longer available due to a change to the security settings on this device. Click to set up you PIN again."

When I go to "Set Up Your Pin" it only recognizes my very old email address which I no longer use or have the password for. When I purchased this laptop I went ahead and created a new Microsoft Account, but it wants to set the PIN up using the old email account.

If I choose "Sign-in options" it requests my password, when I enter it, it does not recognize that either. I have tried too many times and am locked out now.

Doing this update has rendered my laptop totally useless to me.

HELP...how can I set up a new PIN for my laptop?!?!?

P.S. I am posting this question from a friends laptop.

 

Email clients not remembering passwords

Hi all

A friends computer will not remember his gmail password. He used to use outlook, and seeing that I use thunderbird and it would be easier to troubleshoot I installed that for him. Now that was working for a few weeks, and now the same problem is occuring.

We are 100% sure the password is correct, as we can access the email account through webmail, but the local clients will not remember the correct password. Of course the 'Remember password' button is checked, but still no good.

It returns with incorrect password.

Any suggestions?

 

Pin not working after BIOS Update

It seems that your operating system was no longer aligned with your BIOS after installing a BIOS update for your HD3P main board.

For us to diagnose and address the problem, we suggest starting your computer in safe mode and check if the PIN is working while in that state. If it's working, then a 3rd party application may have caused the issue. To start your PC in safe mode, please

If the PIN is not working in safe mode, then a reset is suggested to correct the problem. The operating system should always go with the BIOS. If the BIOS is freshly updated, then the OS has to be fresh as well. Check out
