Windows 10: PIN Required to Sign in; incorrect PW & PIN

my lenovo yoga running windows 10 stopped taking my fingerprint, password, and pin at the login page a few days ago. i’ve tried every combination possible. It says PIN required to sign in. Its just a cycle of ‘incorrect’


Details:

- forgot password: I need a recovery disk that I don’t have/didnt make
- forgot pin: this link doesn’t work/load
- restarted multiple times
- tried command prompt to change the password

- restarted 3x to enter safe mode; to reset my computer my only options are save files or save nothing. there should be a third option for save settings and files.

- used command prompt to run a diagnostic code that I dont remember

- ctrl alt del wont bring up task manager

- this isnt my microsoft account


i’ve been looking on the forums but haven’t found a solution yet. figured i’d ask here.

it did update when I restarted it about a week ago, but I didnt pay attention to what version.

Remove sign in pin

I suggest you to follow the below steps to remove the sign in pin/password options.

• In the search box type sign-in-option.
• Click on the sign-in-option.
• Then you can find password/pin/picture password.
• There you can remove the option and check.

Log-in Pin is incorrect after Anniversary update


After the Windows 10 Anniversary update, when I try to sign in with my pin, it says the pin I entered is incorrect.
I know it is the correct pin number. It's the same pin I've used since installing Windows 10.
I have to sign in using my password. I want to go back to using my pin, but I can't change the pin, since don't know what it thinks my old pin is. I understand others are having the same problem.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

• Which build and version of Windows 10 is installed on your computer?
• Which build and version of Windows 10 are you using before reinstalling Windows?
• Have you tried resetting your PIN?
• Did you get any error messages after you verified the PIN you entered?
