Windows 10: PIN returns status 0xc000015b substatus 0x0

Hi, this happened to me: “PIN returns status 0xc000015b substatus 0x0”. I was logged into windows, working normally, until I decided to disable a local account, as I was no longer using it. Turns out, somehow, the account I disabled was related to the entry PIN. as the only way to enter windows was through the PIN, I couldn't enter windows anymore, I always returned the mentioned error. I tried to sign in with the Microsoft account and also tried resetting the PIN, but it always returned the same error. When I tried to enter through safe mode, the available options did not allow resetting

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Please try the following fix and check:

1. Refresh your Network connection

Unplug your router or modem from its power outlet.

Wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in.

Allow the device a minute or two to turn back on.

Then try it again.

2. Boot your computer in Safemode

Press and hold the SHIFT key on the keyboard. With this key still pressed, click or tap the Power button on the login screen and, in the menu that opens, click Restart.

After your PC restarts to the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.

After your PC restarts, you'll see a list of options.

Select 5 or press F5 for Safe Mode with Networking.

If you can log in on safe mode, you try changing your PIN.

Reset your PIN:

1. Open Settings.

2. Click on Accounts.

3. Click on Sign-in options.

4. Under the PIN section, click I forgot my PIN.

5. Verify your password and hit OK.

6. On the next screen, create a new PIN and follow the on-screen instructions.

7. Restart your PC and check if you can log in with the new PIN.

Hello,

I have recently changed my MS primary email to another, so I have went through the suggested procedure to log in via the new email on my PC. After the reboot the new mail got accepted.

However, after a power outage I cannot login to it anymore. The PIN shows as not set up, the password option is somehow disabled for this account, and any attempt to reset my PIN results in "Something went wrong, try again later."

What can I do to restore my access to my PC?

Thank you so much! While your advice didn't help in the specific way you said, it has brought me to a thought that ultimately solved my problem. I couldn't retrieve the account settings no matter how, infinite loading all the time. So I realized it can't
retrieve its' data. But where did it go?

You see, while changing my email on my PC account, I've had to switch to a local account, and upon accomplishing my goal I disabled it as it was no more use for me. What I didn't realize was that local account somehow was essentially a local version of my
MS acc, so by disabling it I made its' data unavailable. So I have brought it to the state it was before I changed things, and lo and behold, my PIN is working again!
