Windows 10: Pin simple desktop shortcut to taskbar

Using Windows 10, created a simple shortcut to take me to the desktop. Want to pin it to the Taskbar so I can easily get back tot he desktop at anytime. Yes I know you can click on the far right of the bar on the bottom of the screen, but as far as I can tell you have to be a surgeon in order to click on the right spot. I used to have the desktop shortcut on my task bar, but it is gone now and I can't get it back. The command "Pin to Taskbar" is not available when I right click the shortcut I created. Why do Microsoft engineers go out of their way to make things difficult?

In pinning an app in taskbar and creating a desktop shortcut, follow the steps below.

A. How to pin apps to taskbar in Windows 10.

• Type Maps in Cortana Search.
• Right-click on it and choose Pin to Taskbar.

B. How to create desktop shortcut in Windows 10.

• Right-click an open area on the Desktop.
• Hover your mouse on New and click Shortcut.
• Click Browse.
• Click the program or file you want to create a shortcut.
• Choose Open and hit Next. You have the option to change the name for the shortcut.
  
• Click Finish button if it appears at the bottom of the dialog box.
• Click Next button if it appears at the bottom of the dialog box.
• Click the icon you want to use for the shortcut, and then click Finish.

How to pin website shortcut to taskbar?

I have a shortcut on the desktop that goes to this link:

Mango Languages

It works fine, but when I right click there is no option to pin to taskbar.

I read the instructions to pin shortcut to taskbar, but in this case there is no option.

What do you suggest?

I suggest you to follow below steps to change pin the apps on the desktop screen and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to perform the below steps to add the apps on desktop.

• Click on the “Start button” and locate the App that you want to pin to Desktop.
• Right click on the “App” and click on “More options”.
• Then click on “Open File location” and right click on the app, click on “Send to” option.
• Then select “Desktop (Create shortcut)”.
• Go to “Desktop” and check whether the app is located or not.

Or Step 2: To add shortcuts to the desktop

• Press and hold or right-click the desktop, tap or click New, and then tap or click Shortcut.
• Enter the location of the item or tap or click Browse to find the item in File Explorer.
