When I ping an address, I get destination host unreachable error messages, yet the packets are sent and received properly. What's going wrong with Ping?

  3. Using VPN to access network drives

On PC 2, I pinged PC 1, and the results are:

Pinging XXXXXXXX [192.168.249.1] with 32 bytes of data:

    Request timed out.

    Request timed out.

    Ping statistics for 192.168.249.1:

    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),

But on PC1 pinging PC2, it seemed much better:

Pinging 192.168.1.172 with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 192.168.1.1: Destination host unreachable.

    Ping statistics for 192.168.1.172:

    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),

    What shall I do?

cannot ping windows 10 with windows 11

I cannot ping my windows 10 with windows 11, I get

    Ping statistics for 192.168.1.17:

    "

Now I can successfully ping any device that is not running Windows 10.

I've exhaustively tried numerous solutions found on the web, including allowing access through the firewall and even reinstalling the operating system. However, none of these attempts have resolved the issue.
