Windows 10: Ping Spikes

Hello, recently there was a power outage which seems to have done something to my PC. I'm experiencing random ping spikes and I'm not sure why. My computer was working fine one minute, then the power went out and when I turned it back on I started getting ping spikes. My PC specs are CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor, GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER, 32 GB ram, 1 TB memory with SSD. I have tried restarting my computer, uninstalling and reinstalling graphics card drivers, using a VPN, updating my system to Windows 11 from Windows 10, I checked to make sure other drivers were up to dat

Thanks for the swift reply.

Yes, I've gone through all the steps of checking and reinstalling my wireless adapter drivers, with no help. Also, it's not a hardware issue, as I have a Fedora 37 system installed via dual-boot. On Fedora, I get no latency spikes at all.

I came across a post here (Windows 11 Ping Spikes) that really sounds similar to my issue, but the possible solution did not fix my problem.

You could always shrink C in Disk Mgmt and Clean Install WIndows 10 in a Dual Boot to try it on that laptop: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

This way you can decide if you want to keep it on the PC, go back and forth, use both, or use one and keep the other in reserve. If you decide you want to keep it I'll show you how to still get a free WIndows 10 license, just skip the key during intsall.

Dan, I gave you everything possible to try for ping spikes. Please open each link and perform the steps in it. If you need any help just ask back, but please do not skip any steps as we often find the skipped step was the fix.

You seemed to want to go back to Windows 10 so I explained how to do that if you want and still keep Windows 11. That's something for you to consider, and if you want to do it I can help you further.

But for now let's focus on the ping spikes now that I have given you every available fix for that in Windows 11.
